Senior Business Development Manager
The Senior Business Development Manager will lead business development activities to generate future growth opportunities for ZEL. These activities focus on originating high-quality growth opportunities beyond business-as-usual operations, such as new market entries and new distribution partnerships.
The role requires structured business analysis, strong internal strategic alignment, and effective communication with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead the initial go-to-market phase for new ventures and ensure successful implementation.
In addition, the role involves building and maintaining relationships with key business partners and managing complex employee benefit solutions, including Group Life and Disability offerings, across domestic markets and for Expat populations in continental Europe.
The position includes close collaboration with internal functions such as Distribution, Proposition Development, and Underwriting/Pricing.
Your Role
- Originating high-quality growth opportunities beyond business-as-usual activities (e.g. new market entries, distribution partnerships)
- Evaluating opportunities through structured business analysis and ensuring internal strategic alignment
- Communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders
- Leading the first phase of go-to-market for new ventures and ensuring successful implementation
- Building and maintaining relationships with key business partners across continental Europe
- Managing complex employee benefits solutions, including Group Life and Disability products for both local and Expat populations
- Representing ZEL distribution activities in allocated market regions, with a focus on Scandinavia
Required Skills and Experience
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits insurance solutions
- Market-facing experience, including direct interaction with customers and/or brokers
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-focused approach
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are an advantage
- Ability to manage ambiguity and demonstrate flexibility
- Strong analytical thinking and presentation skills
- Growth mindset and continuous improvement attitude
